Today’s the Big Day! Tonight’s the Big Night! It’s my version of the Super Bowl, The World Series, The World Cup, The Indy 500 all rolled into one big event! The Oscars!

In the past I’ve been able to enjoy the awards show with a little get-together of family members, our own “Oscar Party.” Everyone is invited to complete their own Oscar ballot, selecting a winner in all 24 categories, and we have a little “pool” (with a $10 buy in) and whoever gets the most correct categories wins the money and has the honor and privilege of keeping this trophy for the next year:

Anyway, here are some fun pictures from last year’s Oscar Party, in which yours truly ended up winning the coveted “Oscar Pool Winner” trophy!

It's always been great fun to have the family gathered together, watching the show: laughing at the jokes, criticizing the fashions, making snarky remarks throughout the show. It's a lot of fun! And there are always surprises and upsets and it makes for a very interesting night. And while I may be a huge fan I am not always accurate when it comes to picking the winners, and that always makes things more intriguing.

So here's to hoping for a memorable Oscar night, a great party and a great time for all!
