Today is the 13th anniversary of my brother Josh and his wife Karen! Josh was the first sibling in our family to get married, and I remember that we were all so thrilled! We didn’t know quite what to expect, and so this became a little adventure for all of us!
Josh and Karen's engagement announcement photo
Josh proposed to Karen Lockard back on February 15th 1998, and our family was able to videotape them after the proposal. They were so adorable, so cute, so in love…and they still are today (obviously!)

At the reception Dad, Jordan and I wore tuxedos (it was interesting getting dressed up in a “monkey suit” years after my Senior prom!) and we looked great; Josh wore a white tuxedo and looked absolutely handsome; Jaimee looked amazing in her bridesmaid dress; not to be outdone Mom was breathtaking in her dress. But no one could top the bride herself, looking absolutely stunning in her wedding gown.
There were so many people at the reception, so many friends and relatives that had made a lengthy trip to Colorado Springs to celebrate this special occasion. It was quite touching to witness!
And here we are, 13 years later to the day and Josh and Karen are now the parents of 6 (!) beautiful, amazing children! Josh and Karen helped pave the way for my sister Jaimee and brother Jordan with their respective marriages; meanwhile, I’m still a confirmed bachelor, in awe of anyone who can make their marriage not only work, but thrive and flourish through the years, from here to eternity!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JOSH AND KAREN!!

Thanks so much for the great post Jeremy! It was a huge pleasure to have you there and remains our blessing to be part of your family!
ReplyDeleteQuick editor's note ... the reception was actually in the Meadowland building ... but they all look the same so it's relatively unimportant in the "eternal" scheme of things! :)
